Pathum Thani celebrates Mother's Day

- Pathum Thani, a district north of Bangkok, plays a significant role in preserving Thai traditions and ethnically motivated celebrations. In the background looms the double-decker tollway to the capital and nearby Future Park. No skyline here, but thousands of people upholding old traditions. Mid August is Mother's Day and nationwide celebrations on the auspicious Birthday of H.M. The Queen of Thailand (12.08) amount to picturesque shows to honor the "Nation"s Mother" and all mothers.
